Life goes on.

Life is pretty good, up and down, just going on. Here are some things on my mind lately, and I'm not feeling super coherent, so I will stick to listing.
Negatives:
1. My AP world history class, namely the teacher. I've never met a more bland personality in my life. How can a person make history so unendurable?? It's my favorite subject! Needless to say I'm struggling to find my positivity there.
2. My orchestra teacher. The pompous man. 'Nuff said.
3. Snobby people who think not dressing up for Halloween gives them some kind of coolness label. Losers.
4. Flies. If I didn't have goals or ambitions, I'd dedicate my life to killing flies.
5. Sugar-- I feel like my teeth have deteriorated the equivalent of several weeks of not brushing one's teeth due to the massive amounts of sugar I ate this weekend.
Positives:
1. I'm not failing physics.
2. I have an A- in physics
3. I'm loving dance and running simultaneously! This is a rare phenomenon.
4. I love my friends
5. Halloween is tomorrow
6. Irish dance. Always positive.
7. I passed seminary! I know, know, try not to judge my soul, but it was a struggle this term.
8. To counteract, I love my sunday school class. It's pretty awesome.

So basic math skills allow us to see that there are currently more positive things than negative things on my brain right now! And being naturally pessimistic, I'd say that's an accomplishment.

Fall break.....where are you?

I need a break. I'm tired, and sore, and I'm pretty sure my brain cannot handle one more stupid physics problem. I have awful grades, and my toes are currently bloody from Irish dance. But I can hold out to fall break! On a better note, I turned in my sterling scholar application today! Cross your fingers!. I'm also running at Cross Country State next Wednesday! For the first time ever. We're finally in a more down to earth region, and we qualified both boys and girls teams for state! I'm excited. It's a great way to end my last high school cross country season.
And now, for my rant. I hate our new orchestra teacher. He sucks. It doesn't help that he is coming in after the best orchestra teacher ever, but honestly. I don't enjoy that man. His name and appearance alone give him character; Randen Thayne Heywood. So from birth he had a hard life I guess, a name like that won't get you places. And he looks like a wild boar.
Now that we've established the basics, we'll move on to his personality. POMPOUS. He's so stuck up it drives me nuts. He will drone on and on about these collegiate musical terms and treat us like we're so stupid for not knowing them. "This is a G major melodic scale that goes up 20 percent more than a F minor scale harmonic. This is the principle of sliding scales or in pig latin, ;lkfja;lsdkfja....Oh, you don't know what that is? Hmmm." He's not very fun to learn from, he doesn't care who anyone is, he just wants us to play good. I miss Mr. Taylor!

Yesterday

Yesterday I went to an irish dance workshop after my cross country race. I was worried I would suck because I blacked out again after my race, but I was really illogical afterwards and went to dance anyways. As stupid as that was, I had sooo much fun! I'm so glad I went. It was a super intense workshop thing, taught by this awesome lady from a competition school. Since we don't have a teacher Liesl and Leia got her to come and teach us some new stuff to work on. It was really hard, and my feet bled through my socks, but it was so great to dance like that again! We learned a new set dance which was full of toe stands, and new reel and slip jig steps. It was good to work on technique, and get another set of eyes. I forget how much I love Irish dancing :)

And here are some great pictures that pop up when you type "irish dance" into google image... (yes, I had to.)

I just like that :)

                                                  Bedazzled poodle socks??

Colorful ghillies.

Dancing Leprechaun, a personal favorite.

And last but not least, Teddy. Look me in the eye and tell me that thing won't give you nightmares.

Shakespeare Festival!!

Yes. Me, Megan and Emma all went on a fantastic old people vacation. (As we like to call them). Last year we went to the Utah Festival of Opera, a story all its own, and this year we went to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. It was SOO much fun :) Our Grandparents drove us down and we all stayed at this motel place. Us three girls had our own room and the elder folk were in another down the hall. Megan and I went running each morning, it was really nice. I love running in new places, it can get really boring looking at all the same stuff. Anyways. The first plays were in the afternoon in the Randall L. Jones theater. These plays were as follows: The Music Man, The Glass Menagerie, and Noises Off! Of these, the last one was my favorite. It was so hilarious :) Then the evening plays in the Adams theater (outdoors) were: Richard III, Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. All of them were amazing. I really liked Romeo and Juliet, which is weird because I've never liked that play, but the actors were all really talented and it changed my opinion of it. Richard III was really cool, I loved the evilness :) And Midsummer Night's Dream was crazy funny. I was laughing so hard. The best part about everything was just the atmosphere. Hanging out at the SUU campus, with lots of old people who know lots of things. They just know what's important, and they are all SUper nice :) When I was sitting in the theater this lady sitting next to me started talking to Emma and I, asking us where we were from, how old we were, etc. After a while she just randomly said, "You two girls are just so cute. I just love seeing you guys here."  Then, to me, "I have a grandson about your age, but I wouldn't recommend him, he is a hideous beast! I wouldn't tell him about two cute girls like you. He is a real weirdo." I was trying so hard not to laugh! Who says that about their own grandson? :) It was hilarious. We had lots of fun. Oh and this time there wasn't an old man dropping things on my head. What a relief! :) So here are some pics...

The Adams Theater (from the back)

Here is the crazy man who gave the seminars each morning...the haircut says it all :)

Some nice poses by us..

This was the amazing set for A Midsummer Night's Dream (with some rando's head of course)

And last but not least, the weird festival lady who practically forced Emma and I to pose with her :)

SO yeah. Fun was had. The End. :)

Do you ever?

Here are some random things I do, and I am wondering if perhaps others do them too?

Do you ever start typing a comment either on facebook or a blog and write it, and then rewrite it, and then write it again, and then give up and never post anything?

Do you ever find yourself talking to yourself?

Do you ever moan randomly because you remember something really embarrassing you did? How about randomly laugh because you remember something funny?

Do you ever feel like punching someone, not because someone in particular annoyed you, just because you just wanted to? Because you've never attempted before?

Do you ever take one bite of a snack or something and decide you don't want to finish it, not because it's gross or anything, just because you realize you weren't in the mood?

Do you ever feel heavy? Not due to weight, size, fullness of the belly, but just like your muscles are heavy and cumbersome to move?

Do you ever read 10 pages of a book and then switch books?

Well just some things to think about. Perhaps I'm a freak of nature. :)

Track...So it begins

So yeah, track started. So far we've had an intersquad meet (just Westlake) a Quad meet at Timpanogas, and an Invitational at Timpview. The Invite was such a flop. It was on thursday and friday and soooo cold! Thursday it was extremely windy and their "professional timer" broke. This caused a 2 hour delay...it was fun to kind of chill with my friends without the pressure of an upcoming race, nonetheless, the bitter cold began to wear on us and by 8pm we were ready to either race or leave entirely. They didn't run the seeded girls mile until around 9pm. It was dark and cold and I did not feel like running. But we did anyways. Once they actually shoot the gun the cold usually stops bugging because of all the adrenaline, but the dumb official was taking forever!! He made us all take out our headbands calling them "jewelry violations" Everyone knows you aren't allowed to wear jewelry in a race, but I would not call a headband a piece of jewelry. Anyways. He was getting on my nerves. As if we didn't waste enough time with the blasted timer. Friday was just sad. We rode this smelly bus all the way to Timpview, made snowmen, huddled in tents for about an hour and then they canceled it. AHH. I was kind of really annoyed. Why didn't they decide to do that hours ago when it was blizzarding like crazy. I missed a 3 hour dance co. rehearsal for that...Oh well. The rest of the day was fun, I got to hang out with my cousins and I played lazer tag for the first time. (I'm really awful at it!) Fun times. Today I had to go and take an AP Language practice test. 1 hour for 50 multiple choice questions, and 2 hours to write 3 essays. I officially hate anything english and I am sick of choosing the right words for a sentence. Thank you and Goodnight!

My Chemistry Adventure!

I really don't mind chemistry. Everyone always makes it out to be this nightmare of a class, but I don't find it too strenuous; probably because my teacher is pretty good at what he does. (Even if it means crude, sometimes very inappropriate examples to help us understand.) Anyways. We were doing a lab with bunsen burners and all the girls in my group were too afraid to light the match--you must understand that these matches were really stupid and to get some good friction you had to hold it way close to your thumb, therefore burning your thumb a little. So I volunteered, endured the "burn" which only felt a little sting-y, and then put it over the burner that was releasing the gas. However, we did not realize our gas was on high, so the flame shot up about a foot in the air and singed my hair. It was really funny! It was just my bangs and so the little guys coiled up in these crusty curls. It looked and felt like the weird pot filling of an indoor tree. I patted it down with water and it looked really normal considering. Don't worry, I still have all my hair, I just have these little gray pokeys that you can only see close up.

A more precise definition:

Notes: a hobo  is a migratory worker who likes to travel, a tramp  travels without working, and a bum  does not travel or work

**Taken from Dictionary.com-- thanks for clearing that up old buddie**
