Music

Music is very consistent for me. My life gets kinda crazy sometimes and music is the one thing that stays the same. It's always been the same for me. Obviously I've been playing violin for ages, so it's always been there for me in the literal sense of things, but also, I think because it was always the one thing I was never worried about, and the one thing I never got competitive about, it became my comfort blanket. I can just go into the music room in whatever mood I happen to be in and play. I play songs I played years and years ago, and I play them horribly. I play songs I'm learning currently and play them up to tempo without caring how awful it is. I play really slow songs and make them sound nice and then I play fast songs and try to hold on :) I play the piano. And guess what? I'm horrid at that too. I drive my family absolutely nuts by playing the piano. But I love it and it doesn't matter to me that it's not perfect music because it's just expression. SO I suppose this is me awkwardly saying I LOVE music :) haha

Aside from playing it, I live for listening to music. I would not survive one day without my iPod. It's ridiculous. I love all kinds of music and I love that I can just choose a mood to be in or coordinate my mood with all the different music genres. If I'm feeling relaxed or contemplative I'll pull out some classical music. Or if I just am really angry I'll cliche myself with teen angst stuff like My Chemical Romance or Paramore. If I'm in a party-ish mood, pop music, a creative/imaginitive mood, perhaps a soundtrack like the Village. Sometimes I feel artistic and I listen to really weird modern stuff like Radical Face. I am so so weird about my music and I'm probably a certifiable lunatic because of it. But whatev. Music saves my life!
