I HATE Cars

Last night I went to Emma's volleyball game which went until 11 at night! I was SO tired. Then we got home and the stupid volvo had a flat tire. My dad made me help him pump it up with a bike pump so it would get us to the gas station. By now it's around 11:30 and I'm exhausted, but I've "got to learn how to fill a tire with air" which is a joke. I cannot process anything and store it in my brain in the middle of the night! Anyways. We finally got home and went to sleep at midnight.

Next Morning...

I pulled myself out of bed and drove Emma and I to the high school in the yukon, the car without a deflated tire. It was rather dark so I turned on my lights...and forgot to turn them off. Later in the day I had a free hour so I was going to drive home, but the car wouldn't start. The battery obviously died since I didn't turn them off. I'm so dumb. Ugh. Anyways, I called my dad and he said he'd come over and jump start it so it would run. It should have gone quite smoothly...

I am in my 4th hour class...chemistry. We are taking a test and then the overcom calls me down to the office. I noisly move out of the room amidst the silent test takers and my science teacher gives me this look like "what the heck?" My dad was waiting in the office. As I had no idea what was going on, I didn't bring the car keys with me, but my dad said I needed to go get them. AHH!! Back into the dead quiet chemistry room I go, disturbing the peace like a cumbersome oaf! Again, I get the look from the teacher as I rummage around my back pack for the keys. Everyone is looking at me like I'm a freak from the circus. Worst few seconds ever. Apparently once my dad had got the car started he'd accidently locked the keys inside, so the car was running and he couldn't turn it off. I unlocked it with my key and rushed back to finish the test.

So we got the car working fine and I will forever remember to turn off the lights!! Hopefully there will not be another episode of car drama!

  1. Good thing my lights turn off automatically. Just be glad you haven't got in an accident yet. I did that twice before I turned 17.

But I agree that cars are stupid. We should return to using horse-drawn wagons and figure out some way to make them defy the laws of the universe and travel close to the speed of light. It would be energy efficient and environmentally friendly. :)

  2. How sad. That would be one way to ruin your day. I am overly cautious about my car though, so if I don't remember locking the door I will walk all the way back out to the car just to check. I don't know why I am so weird... No one would seriously want to steal my car anyway:)

  3. Man I didn't realize how poorly I wrote that. I should proof-read more often!

  4. Cars are the worst -- nothing but problems and issues. (Don't tell Nick I said that!)
